MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation has announced a generous donation of $970,576 to 57 organizations across 11 regions of Quebec, all dedicated to improving the well-being of underprivileged children aged 4 to 17.

The grants, presented on May 21 at the Bell Centre, will help nonprofits, schools, and youth centers promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity among youth from low-income families. These funds will provide access to sports facilities, equipment, camps, and recreational programs—resources that are often out of reach for families facing financial hardship.

“Every child deserves the same opportunities to move, play, and dream,” said Pierre Boivin, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board. “By supporting organizations working with disadvantaged youth, we’re investing in their confidence, well-being, and future.”

The Foundation’s funding will support:

  • Free summer and day camp experiences for vulnerable youth
  • Inclusive playgrounds, motor-skill circuits, and new obstacle courses
  • Sports and leisure activities for nearly 20,000 kids
  • Equipment for sports like hockey, soccer, basketball, boxing, skateboarding, and winter sports

These grants are part of the Foundation’s annual giving program. Nonprofits looking to apply for future funding can do so between September 1 and November 30 each year. Since 2000, the Foundation has contributed over $22.17 million to more than 900 organizations across Quebec.
