One of the players currently generating the most attention with the Montreal Canadiens is forward Kirby Dach. Unfortunately, it’s not for the right reasons at the moment.
A particularly embarrassing moment came during a play that directly led to a goal by the Vegas Golden Knights, marking the start of the Canadiens’ collapse and igniting boos from the Bell Centre crowd. Head coach Martin St. Louis even addressed the fans, acknowledging the team’s poor performance.
Kirby Dach breaks his silence after Saturday night’s game
In a post-game press conference, Dach took full responsibility, standing confidently before the reporters without shying away from the situation.
It was a strong, professional move that shows he’s committed to improving and taking his game to the next level. It’s reassuring to see this level of accountability from him.
Kirby Dach makes a clear statement following his poor performance:
Do you think Saturday’s game was a valuable “wake-up call” for Kirby Dach, or do you agree with some others who feel he should face a bigger punishment, like a Healthy Scratch?
Personally, I wasn’t opposed to the idea of benching him for a game, but after hearing Dach’s response yesterday, I’d hold off on sending him to the stands for now.
He genuinely seems determined to bounce back. He’ll just need to double down on his efforts.
