In October 2024, President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints delivered a significant address during the Sunday afternoon session of the 194th “President Nelson Declares: ‘The Best Is Yet to Come’ as Temples Prepare the World for Christ’s Return”
In his remarks, President Nelson emphasized the importance of temples in preparing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. He stated that the Church is constructing temples at an unprecedented pace under divine direction, as temple blessings are essential for gathering Israel on both sides of the veil and readying the world for the Savior’s return.
He encouraged members to make discipleship their highest priority and to engage in regular temple worship. He promised that sincere seekers of Jesus Christ would find Him in the temple, experience His mercy, receive answers to their most challenging questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the joy of His gospel.
President Nelson urged individuals to dedicate time each week to study the Atonement of Jesus Christ, assuring that those who make and keep covenants will find life’s painful moments to be temporary. He called upon all to rededicate their lives to Jesus Christ, declaring, “The best is yet to come as we fully turn our hearts and our lives to Jesus Christ.”
Concluding his address, President Nelson announced plans for 17 new temples worldwide, underscoring the Church’s commitment to expanding temple access for its members.
