There have been whispers in the NHL for a while now about the possibility of a trade involving Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller becoming a reality.
Well, the excellent insider David Pagnotta has just confirmed it in the clearest possible way.
A trade involving Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller is officially on the table for the Vancouver Canucks’ general manager, and he is listening to offers.
In our case, it’s obviously Pettersson who interests us the most.

Well, it’s becoming more and more certain. The forward is available on the trade market.
Let’s also recall what their former head coach mentioned recently:
“It is a problem, and I knew they had a little bit of a problem between them before I got there, but I thought that was all straightened out and everything. So, I’m hoping it was a coincidence..
“If there’s a rift in the locker room, it’s up to the coach in all of these situations. I know the coach is the easy one to move but it’s up to him to read the room, and if something is wrong, to fix it and to fix the room and bring the guys in and talk to them about it.
“- Former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau
This explains a lot and seems to be a golden opportunity for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton to acquire an NHL star forward.

It’s no coincidence that the Montreal Canadiens have recently been linked to this matter.
These will be two major storylines to watch in the coming weeks, and in my humble opinion, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens should at least inquire (which they will almost certainly do, in my opinion).
Pettersson, 26, has 28 points in 34 games this season, after recording 89 points last season and 102 points the season before that.
