Last night, Don Sweeney made another big move for the Boston Bruins as they continue to sell ahead of the NHL trade deadline, and traded Justin Brazeau. Now the full details have released.

Just moments after their heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes last night, General Manager Don Sweeney struck a deal with the Minnesota Wild.
NHL insider Kevin Weeks was the first to report that the Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild were combing for a trade. Weeks stated the Boston Bruins were acquiring forward Marat Khusnutdinov and former Boston Bruin Jakub Lauko.

Breaking News 🚨 📰 I’m told @mnwild are trading F Khusnutdinov and F Lauko to the @NHLBruins . #HockeyX Side note, fresh outta surgery so I’m not that sharp LOL 😂

Full Details
At first, the return was not revealed, but later on it was revealed that the Boston Bruins were trading Justin Brazeau in return. It was also reported that the Bruins were getting back their original 2026 sixth-round pick they traded to Minnesota last year in the Pat Maroon trade.
Bruins make the trade official:

Boston gets:

  • Marat Khusnutdinov
  • Jakub Lauko
  • 2026 sixth-round draft pick (originally from Boston)

Minnesota gets:
Justin Brazeau

The #NHLBruins have acquired forwards Marat Khusnutdinov and Jakub Lauko, as well as a 2026 sixth-round pick, from Minnesota in exchange for Justin Brazeau.

Khusnutdinov is the most appealing return in this trade for the Bruins. The 22-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, and has shown some potential. He has appeared in 57 games for the wild this season scoring just two goals, and seven points, but was stellar in the KHL when he played for the SKA St. Petersburg.
This is definitely a sellers market this year, and it will be interesting to see what other moves Don Sweeney makes before the end of the trade deadline.
