The Minnesota Wild got some very bad news on Kirill Kaprizov Tuesday. Life without Kirill over the next month+ will not be easy, and there’s a spot in the Western Conference playoff bracket riding on their ability to win games for another extended period of time without the greatest player in franchise history.
But as you learn over the years of being a sports fan, the game moves on without those who fall to injury during battle. At the end of the day, the MN Wild have no choice but to move on. Since arriving in St. Paul, the 26-year-old former 7th round pick has gained an exponential amount of National Hockey League experience, thanks in large part to the plethora of injuries they have suffered throughout the 2024-25 season.
Ben Jones has logged a total of 218 minutes on the ice time for the Wild, in 26 games played. Unfortunately, he is yet to log an NHL point, either here or in Vegas. Minnesota is -3 in goal differential this season, while Jones has been on the ice. Earlier this month, we did think Ben Jones notched his first NHL goal… but it was disallowed.
