The Boston Bruins have just over a week before the NHL trade deadline, heading into the deadline a NHL broadcaster made a bold assumption regarding the current roster the Bruins are icing.

Stanley Cup champion Eddie Olczyk stated that he does not believe the Boston Bruins need to make major changes to their roster.
Olczyk appeared on NESN with Kasey Hudson on their “The Hockey Hub” podcast and talked about why the Boston Bruins have the opportunity to not only make the playoffs after their inconsistent year, but to also go on a deep run.
«I do feel like the Bruins have that type of roster to make the playoffs,» Olczyk said. «And when they are completely healthy, they do become a dangerous team. They do have very good goaltending in Jeremy Swayman. Once you get in, you get a hot goaltender, you just never know what the hell can happen in the NHL playoffs.»

As of now, the Boston Bruins are right in the middle of a dogfight in the Eastern Conference trying to get themselves into a playoff position, but are tightly battling the Ottawa Senators, Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the New York Rangers.
Eddie Olczyk also went on to add that the Boston Bruins have adapted a next-man-up mentality with Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm being out of the lineup.
«You could argue your two top defensemen are out of the lineup, but nobody’s gonna feel sorry for you,» he said. «You got to be able to find ways to win games a little bit differently when you don’t have your best players in the lineup, and sometimes it isn’t pretty, but at the end of the day, every point matters. Doesn’t matter who you’re playing and give yourself a chance.»

The Boston Bruins are not out of the fight, but they need to start stringing wins together if they want to make it this year.
