CINCINNATI — Bengals tight end Tanner Hudson sustained a knee injury during Thursday’s practice and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Head coach Zac Taylor provided an update on Friday, stating the team is still assessing the severity of Hudson’s injury. When asked if the veteran might be out for the season, Taylor responded, “We’ll see.”

Hudson, a key contributor this season, has recorded 18 receptions for 143 yards and one touchdown.

If he is sidelined for the remainder of the year, rookie Tanner McLachlan could get his first opportunity to step up. Selected in the sixth round (194th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, McLachlan has yet to be active for a game this season.

In Hudson’s absence, Mike Gesicki and Cam Grandy are expected to lead the Bengals’ tight end group during Sunday’s matchup against the Browns.
