An unusual event just occurred right in the middle of the playoff game between the Maple Leafs and the Senators.
It doesn’t appear to be too serious, but yes, you read that correctly.
According to insider David Pagnotta (The Fourth Period), there was indeed a fire in the 300 level of Scotiabank Arena in Toronto during Game 1 between the Leafs and the Sens.
There was a fire just minutes ago at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto during the Maple Leafs game
Here’s what he reported:
“There was a fire inside the 300 level of Scotiabank Arena, and part of the concourse is temporarily closed. Fire department is on scene and the fire’s been contained. If you’re in attendance and can’t get to your 300 level seat, that’s why – but you should soon.”

Let’s just say this isn’t something you see every day. It’s a pretty bizarre story, but the good news is everything appears to be under control now.
The firefighters did their job, and the game is continuing.
As a reminder, at the time of writing this, Game 1 of this Battle of Ontario is currently underway live from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:30 PM, once again live from Toronto.
More details to come.
