The Bengals’ linebacker corps is undergoing major changes—and another familiar face is moving on.
CINCINNATI — Linebacker Joe Bachie has signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, reuniting with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, the former Bengals DC who joined Indianapolis earlier this offseason after being let go by head coach Zac Taylor in January.
Bachie, 27, spent the past four seasons in Cincinnati, appearing in 47 regular-season games and recording 46 tackles. While he wasn’t a headline-grabber on defense, he was a standout on special teams, logging 818 snaps across his Bengals tenure.
With Bachie gone and Germaine Pratt expected to depart soon, Cincinnati’s linebacker room is entering a new era. The Bengals signed veteran Oren Burks in free agency and added Demetrius Knight Jr. and Barrett Carter through the draft—both expected to compete for playing time right away.
Notably, Bachie was part of the 2021 Bengals team that reached Super Bowl LVI, contributing both depth and energy.
The Colts made the signing official earlier today.
