Novak Djokovic has officially confirmed that he, Roger Federer, and several other legendary figures will attend Rafael Nadal’s tribute ceremony at Roland Garros.
Although Nadal had a farewell event during last year’s Davis Cup, many fans and tennis insiders felt it didn’t do justice to his incredible legacy. Naturally, Roland Garros — the site of his historic 14 Grand Slam titles — plans to deliver a tribute worthy of the “King of Clay.”
The ceremony at Court Philippe-Chatrier is expected to be nothing short of iconic. Djokovic, in an interview with Swiss outlet Le Matin after claiming his 100th career title in Geneva, confirmed the presence of both Federer and Andy Murray alongside him.
“It will be a very special, very emotional moment for everyone. Along with Federer and Murray, we will be there for the ceremony. It will be a beautiful moment.”

Tennis legends such as Mats Wilander, Martina Navratilova, and Jim Courier — many of whom now work in media — are also expected to attend. Current stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Nadal’s longtime admirer Iga Swiatek will likely be in the stands too.
The ceremony will be a tribute to not just Nadal’s career but also one of the greatest rivalries the sport has ever seen — Nadal vs. Djokovic. The Serbian admitted that Nadal’s retirement left a significant impact on him.
“Yes, it was hard to stay motivated without him. Honestly, I didn’t think it would be like this. A part of me left with him… When Rafa quit, I felt something I’d never felt before.”
Though he struggled with motivation following Nadal’s departure, Djokovic says he’s now feeling reenergized and ready to compete. After honoring Nadal on the court he made his own, Djokovic will turn his attention back to business — likely facing Mackenzie McDonald in his opening match as the sixth seed.
